Statement of Purpose
Goals
The goals of Christian education at TGCS are: (1) to provide a Biblically-based academic and spiritual educational program, (2) to assist parents in fulfilling their God-given responsibilities regarding their children's education, and (3) to guide the student in the development of his/her God-given potential towards becoming a complete individual who has a Christian perspective and life-style, and who is equipped to live in today's world.
Philosophy
All truth is God's truth and we view the educational process as a means God uses to reveal Himself to the student. Thus, the basis for TGCS's educational philosophy and program is the Bible. God has revealed Himself to mankind in a general way through creation, nature and His mighty acts. He has revealed Himself in a special way through His Son, Jesus Christ, and through His Word, the Bible, which is authoritative and inerrant. Therefore, school curricular and co-curricular activities are meant to reflect Biblical principles and values. (Romans 11:36)
The mandate for education, which is Christian in content and is Biblically integrated comes from God's command that children are to be taught to love God and give Him preeminence in their lives. (Deuteronomy 6:5-7) God has given each child to his/her parent along with the responsibility for his/her development. Therefore, TGCS exists primarily to assist parents in fulfilling their divine responsibility to train each child to obey God in every area of life.
In order to help each student develop to his/her God-given potential as a complete individual, TGCS endeavors to be used by the Holy Spirit to develop a Christian mind set, a Biblical value system, a Christian perspective, and a Biblical life-style. These can only become a truly integrated reality in an individual when there is a personally chosen faith in Christ as Savior and Lord. (John 16:13) As a result, the student, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, can enjoyably and successfully fulfill God's will for his/her life - personally, socially, and vocationally in the present and in the future. (Romans 12-2)
Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide a complete education which promotes academic excellence and a biblical worldview. It is the goal of TGCS to equip students with the intellect and character they need to impact their world.
Non-discriminatory Policy
It is and shall be the policy and practice of Tower Grove Christian School to not discriminate on the basis of a person’s race, color, sex, or national or ethnic origin in the admission of students or the hiring of employees.
Statement of Faith
As a Christian school, we are open to people of all faiths. We are interested in the establishment of a living faith in God, through His Son Jesus, in our students. All of our academic pursuits are studied from a God-centered view of life.
1. We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.
2. We believe in the deity of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; in His virgin birth; in His sinless life; in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood; in His bodily resurrection; in His ascension to heaven.
3. We believe that there is one God, existing eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
4. We believe that every person is a sinner (lost) by nature and by choice and is in need of a Savior.
5. We believe that salvation is the gift of God offered to man by His grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
6. We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit; that He convicts the sinner; regenerates those who believe; indwells, seals, instructs, reproves and guides the believer; and that He fills and controls every life that is wholly yielded to Him.
7. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved unto life and the unsaved unto judgment and everlasting damnation.
